The moth, or wax moth - is an insect pest of honey bees. By laying larvae in hives near fresh honey and pollen, on the walls of honeycomb cells, the moth provides its offspring with a rich diet. The larvae feed on all the waste products of bees: wax, beebread, propolis, royal jelly and, of course, honey.
